Jonathan leads the coordination of sports activities for the All Angels Youth. The group is a fine example of exploiting the love of sports to motivate youth in the urban and rural communities to participate in developing their communities.
I am the sports coordinator for the All Angel’s Youth. We thought of having this subcommittee of sports, which emphasizes much on sporting activities. With an aim of keeping the youth busy, instead of being busy with immoral behavior and the like. We are aiming at doing some of these activities at church, such as church cleaning. Even visiting other people that are unable to perform work for themselves, such as cleaning their clothes.
This is one of our aims. We formed this group with the aim of reaching out to other people. We are born-again Christians, so we do evangelize. We do meet different people from the rural areas. So one of the means we use to at least attract those people, is through sports.
We are the leaders, you see, of tomorrow. Of which, we are at least able to see, that we are the leaders, even as of now. Because at least, we are also playing a part in society. Sometimes we do organize to build some of the important structures. As of now, we are having a project, whereby we want to construct a toilet. We only have one toilet, of which is not enough for the whole church. So it is one of our projects, that we should construct that one to accommodate each of the members. |
